The WM Network

In a long ago and faraway time (last February), Deb Pecis received kudos from the WM Network for receiving the most comments in January on the WM Parenting Connection for her post, “My Response to the Chinese Parenting Piece.” Well, she actually tied with Kelli Robinson for “Reach for the Stars...and Take the Tiara With You,” but who's counting?

Deb responded with the most eloquent acceptance speech. And today, we share it with you.

Oh my God, I so wasn't expecting to win this comment of the month thing! I'm just in shock! It's so surreal to be sitting here, at my computer screen, accepting this. Just to be grouped with such brilliant bloggers is amazing and humbling! I'm so glad I didn't embarrass myself by tripping over my Snuggi/kids' toys/laundry baskets on the way up to this virtual podium.

First of all, I'd like to thank Angie and Alyssa, for starting this blog.

You're an inspiration to us all. And Al Gore, who I hear invented the internet--but who invented blogging? I'm not sure, but thank you. Thank you to Mark Zuckerberg, and Amy Chau for her Chinese Parenting piece.

And of course, thank you to my wonderful husband, Brad Pitt, and the electrician that I hope you hire soon, as well as my children who are my constant inspiration/headache/reason for living/reason for drinking.

Also, thank you to my stylists--Kohls and Sauve shampoo--as well as the folks at Fantastic Sam's for a cheap haircut, and no, I don't need it blowdried, even if it's 8 degrees outside, I'd rather save a buck and treat myself at Starbucks.

Thank you to Starbucks, simply for being, and for providing us bloggers with the delusion that we are fancy, artsy-fartsy writers simply because we are drinking what is essentially hot ice cream with a fancier name.

And finally, thank you to Pam Houghton, who's exemplary (sp?) persuasion abilities convinced me to take this non-paying gig, and who continues to prod me to do things like start an author website (still in the works), attend networking events, or just drink more Starbucks.

Now the orchestra in my head is playing...must go...thank you to my parents, God, and everyone!
